Taxation in Pakistan

Taxation in Pakistan can be viewed as complicated set of compliance required by the Government of Pakistan which includes filing of Tax Returns, statements, working as Agents for collection of taxes from taxpayers on behalf of the Government. 

The mandatory annual declaration that every taxpayer has to go for is Annual Income Tax Return under section 114 of the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001.

Income Tax Return (Annual)
Following Taxpayers are required to e-file the income tax returns:


  • All Companies
  • All Association of pers (AOPs)
  • Sales Tax (STR) registered persons/ companies
  • Salaried Persons having taxable income/ salary greater than or equal to Rs.500,000 each year
  • Or anyone with income tax refund claim
